Abstract

Pregnancy is a critical stage in the life of the mother and fetus. Several physiological and psychological changes occur for both. Some of the . most prominent factors affecting their health are the mother's food habits, physical activity, and access to essential information about . pregnancy. The current study aims to measure the patterns of lifestyle 214 behaviours of pregnant women. A sample of 214 pregnant Kuwaiti . women was selected. A questionnaire was the primary tool used to )1( : conduct the study. It consisted of five sections: (1) sociocultural - )2( )3( factors, (2) information about the primary sources of pregnancy and ( )5 )4( the health condition of pregnant women, (3) general healthy lifestyle . 12 behaviours, (4) pregnant women's lifestyle, and (5) awareness of basic information on pregnancy. Also, interviews with 12 female respondents were conducted. To analyze the results, descriptive and . : inferential statistics were used. T-test and chi-square were the major ( ) . statistical procedures employed. The results indicated that many . respondents changed their eating habits and lifestyle behaviour during pregnancy. They also revealed that there was a high degree of awareness about health issues related to pregnancy. The study also . showed cultural differences among certain social groups in Kuwait.
