Abstract
This study aimed to explore the effectiveness of the gifted-classes programme being offered at Yanbu. The study was conducted during the 2017/2018 academic year and targeted students in the programme as well as their parents The sample consisted of 228 students and 141 parents. Various tools were developed and used, keeping in mind the international standards for gifted- 2018 /2017 education programmes. Overall, responses from the parents showed a belief 141 228 that the programme provided opportunities in which gifted students could develop and improve their interests and abilities in science and mathematics subjects, while extending their knowledge and skills. In addition, the gifted students strongly agreed that the programme had offered the necessary enrichment activities required for their creative and critical thinking development. Recommendations for the improvement of admission and advertising processes, as well as the motivation of those responsible for the programmes, have been made
